We are looking for 433A Licensed Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) in Whitby, ON // 📍 Location: Whitby, ON (On-Site) // 🕒 Full-Time | Rotating Shifts
Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday (rotating every 2 weeks) // Days: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM // Afternoons: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM //
Nights: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Stable, long-term opportunity in a growing facility
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on production and packaging equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime
- Repair, rebuild, and fabricate parts using shop tools (welding, lathe, milling machine, drill press)
- Install, disassemble, and relocate equipment as required
- Maintain high-speed food processing and packaging equipment (conveyors, compressors, pumps, etc.)
- Work with PLC-controlled equipment (mechanical interface & fault finding)
Continuous Improvement & Leadership:
- Support equipment improvements with Maintenance Manager
- Assist with work coordination and daily task assignments
- Train and support Apprentice Millwrights
- Help source parts and plan repairs/rebuilds
Safety, Sanitation & Compliance:
- Follow all health & safety regulations (LOTO, confined space, working at heights)
- Maintain clean and organized work areas (SQF, GMP standards)
- Ensure maintenance work prevents contamination risks in food production
Communication & Teamwork:
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, H&S, Logistics, and other departments
- Communicate equipment status and maintenance needs clearly
- Complete work orders and documentation accurately
Requirements:
- Valid 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) License (Ontario)
- Experience in food processing or packaging (preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts
Salary - 39$ per hour
