You must bring the licence to one of the approved translators. The list includes: non-Canadian embassies, consulates, or offices of the high commissioner. The list does not include other translators from the country where the licence was issued.
Translators must provide proof of their qualifications.
A translator is qualified to work with clients in Ontario if they meet one of the following requirements:
•has proof that they are currently employed or were previously employed in the provision of translation services
•is or was a member of a professional association providing translation services (for example, ATIO – Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario)
•is a member of the clergy with translation experience
