5. Status for Incomplete Bachelor Degrees of Another University, Polytechnics, TAFE or Similar Institution
5.1 A student:
(a) currently enrolled in another university or similar institution but has not qualified to receive a bachelor degree and who applies to transfer to a bachelor degree program of the Faculty; or
(b) who was enrolled as student of another university or a similar institution but did not qualify to receive a bachelor degree and who has applied to transfer to a bachelor degree program of the Faculty;
may be granted status for courses passed subject to the conditions in regulation 5.2.
5.2 Status may be granted under regulation 5.1 subject to the following conditions:
(a) all status determination will be based on the equivalence of units and program structure required for completion of the bachelor degree program at the other university or similar institution, to the units and program structure required for the relevant bachelor degree offered by the Faculty;
(b) status for courses passed will be subject to restrictions on program structure and status imposed by the relevant bachelor degree requirements;
(c) status may be granted for courses to the value of no more than:
96 units towards a 144 units pass degree; or
48 units towards the Science component of a combined program.

(d) unless the Sub Dean otherwise determines, status shall not be granted for a course passed at a university, polytechnics or TAFE, where a period of 10 years or more has elapsed from the date the student enrolled in that course and the date on which the student applies for status in respect of that course.
5.3 If status is granted, the student is then required to pass in the Faculty at least 48 units (which is to include 36 Group C units) of later-year Science courses offered by a science-related department.
5.4 Where a student is granted status under regulation 5.1, the final date for completion of the bachelor degree at the Faculty will be counted as ten years from the beginning of the year in which the earliest course for which status is granted, is passed. This regulation is subject to regulation 5.5.
5.5 If the time allowed for the completion of the relevant degree under regulation 5.4 is insufficient for the student under ordinary circumstances, the Sub Dean may still grant status and prescribe a new final date for completion of the degree, based on the courses to be completed in the degree.
